Very clear diagram. it appears you are describing a developable surface bottom. considering similar requirements, i built a variable deadrise boat reversing your two areas. the area you have labeled "curved" is flat and the area you have labeled "flat" has a slight curve. the boat has performed well.. The chesapeake bay deadrise or deadrise workboat is a type of traditional fishing boat used in the chesapeake bay. watermen use these boats year round for everything from crabbing and oystering to catching fish or eels. the design and construction of deadrise workboats evolved from the sailing skipjacks.. A boat’s deadrise is the amount of angle that forms between the boat bottom and a horizontal plane on either side of center keel. the deadrise angle is the least (meaning flattest) at the transom and gradually increases (more vee) as the bottom goes forward and then increases at a greater rate at the bow.. Most boat builders are aware of the relationship of beam to length when it comes to performance. high-speed powerboats tend to have narrow hulls with relatively large deadrise angles that often approach a traditional deep-v design. cruising boats are much wider..
